I'm a nice guy deep down, but sometimes I just like to rile people. I love being the antagonist and sticking up for things I don't believe in. I don't know why this is, but I think it might have something to do with my rebellious/outcast roots... that whole drive-to-be-different thing some of us went through in our mid-teen years. I dunno. I like being nice, and I enjoy being courteous. Maybe life isn't so easy. Heh.
I want to be a history professor at some point in time. Specifically, ancient history/civilization. However, there's this part of me that wants to be one of those long-distance rig drivers for a freight company. I like to be able to tell a story, and travel always inspires stories. I guess I'm the bard, forever wandering the countryside and performing for anyone who will lend an ear. Not really, but that would be nifty, too. Right now I'm taking courses at a local university to secure my future and working full time as a gas station assistant manager. Spiffy, huh?

Who am I? That's always an easy question to answer, on the surface: I'm the Calliander. But who is the Calliander? (Due to a lost lawsuit against The World Wildlife Fund, I am no longer allowed to capitalize the "the" in front of "Calliander".)
Well, I'm pretty lame, but not as lame as you would expect. One of my hobbies used to be working with Macintosh computers - breaking them, fixing them, taking them apart, and putting them back together. I enjoy using both PCs and Macs, but my first computer experience was with a Mac Classic, so I feel that I owe it to Apple Computer to work on their products. I'm currently a fully certified technician.
I like a large variety of music - I have hip-hop, hard rock, latin jazz, and celtic music amongst my vast CD and MP3 collection. I also like a lot of movies, though I tend to be overly critical of movies everyone goes crazy about. I like to read, mainly fantasy and science fiction, write, play video/computer games, and take long drives - provided there isn't much traffic. I'm not too into cars themselves, but I like the travel aspect.
